A Message from Detective Sullivan

The Rehoboth Beach Police Department handled several reported thefts of items including money, cell phones etc. from unattended belongings left on the beach.   Officers also handled several reports of shoplifting from local businesses as well.

The Rehoboth Beach Police Department also conducted a DUI Checkpoint on Saturday July 30 from 11:00 pm to 3:00 am.  Officers from several local jurisdictions assisted Rehoboth Police for the checkpoint where four people were arrested for DUI and multiple citations were issued for various other traffic violations.

Officers continue expanded foot patrol in the residential area focusing on the north side of town.  Officers will begin moving to the southern end of town this week for additional residential foot patrol.

We had a report of a suspicious vehicle, an older model blue/green Toyota Corolla with a Delaware registration operated by a white male, on and around Wilmington Avenue.  We again remind all of our 'Watchers" to report any and all suspicious activity including suspicious vehicles immediately to the police department.

Thank you to all Watchers for all you do.
